A Young Person For the Lord, S.M.S. I was born into a Christian family. From a young age I began to love the Lord, but I had many questions and doubts. I was brought up Catholic and had a lot of doctrines and ideas that I thought I had to embrace in order to follow the Lord. But later I found out that wasn't true. In my early teens I lost my mother to colon cancer, and shortly after that I began to question things and have many fears regarding my family. I began going to a Pentecostal meeting place where I eventually received the Lord. I went on to college and within two weeks of beginning my freshman year of college I met some women (sisters) who met with the local church in the city in which I was living. I was very impressed by their fervor for the Lord and their knowledge of the truth, and I also wanted to enjoy the Lord like they did. The more I spent time with them, the more I saw how normal they were and that they were just people loving the Lord. As time went on I heard about a Bible truth and church service school for young people called the Full-Time Training in Anaheim (FTTA). I'm now about to graduate from this school. As I look back on these two years, what I have enjoyed the most is the truths that I have received, including a vision of God's economy (1 Timothy 1:4), God's plan for man on the earth today. I'm a young person on this earth whose life is not just for myself, but for the Lord to gain what He is after, a group of people to express Him and represent Him (Ephesians 1:22-23). For so many years meeting with the local churches in different cities, I heard this, but I never truly saw it for my self (or I would say that I wasn't so committed to it as I am today). The FTTA is a precious place; it is a place where young people can grow to be normal, functioning members of the Body of Christ (Ephesians 4:15-16). The Lord doesn't need a group of robots to do good deeds for Him. He needs young people who love Him and choose Him so He can gain His Bride (Revelation 19:7-9).
